Who are these intrepid adventurers?
While the Laines and their escapades are fictitious, the places and times they are visiting are not! Drawing inspiration from real families like the Medicis, Roosevelts, and Polos, the Laines are meant to be a lineage of explorers, with generation after generation traipsing across the globe to bring you stories from different times in history!
As the Lost Letter Club expands, more Laines (and their stories) will be added! If your favorite time period isn't covered by the current explorers, fear not! More are on the way!

The first member of the Laine family whose letters the LLC has found, Charles Laine is a bright, eager young man exploring the world in the 1830's. Born on the island of Guernsey in 1805, Charles yearns for adventure and excitement, and relays all that he finds in his letters to his sister Lavinia. Beyond all else Charles loves to meet new people, and many such characters make their way into his letters, bringing life and liveliness to his tales!
